My Story

I

A Grateful Heart.

I share the following particulars with you because all of these experiences demonstrate the breadth and depth of what I bring I can offer you from my professional and personal history. Nursing also has taken me on a profound spiritual journey which continues to this day. Nursing has led me to a place of connecting with and better understanding humanity - my own and that of others - and recognizing the privilege it is to be of service. I come to you with a grateful and open heart.

From a professional standpoint, I have been in nursing since I was 16 years old as a Candy Striper! Over 44 years in healthcare, I’ve worked in small and large hospital systems, home care, long term care, colleges and universities, inter-professional consulting, education, and private practice. I’ve been a consultant, Director, Dean, Clinical Nurse Specialist, nurse manager, university professor, researcher, program developer, Healing Touch practitioner, and counselor. My expertise deepened in holistic nursing, relationship-centered care, interprofessional education, psychiatric-mental health nursing, gerontological nursing, holistic healing & integrative care, circle practice, and transformational leadership.

I am a bridge between two paradigms of health and healing, and my influences are diverse. I am a Circle Carrier of The Circle Way and a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. I am a certified facilitator of the Spiral Journey in the Work that Reconnects. I am a Certified Daring Way Facilitator. I attended the Human Caring and Healing International Certificate Program. I am a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, a Reiki Master, and attended several programs in Medical Intuition with Carolyn Myss and Christine Page. I am a certified reader of the Akashic Records, a student of Human Design, the healing properties of crystals, astrology, and the Tarot. Though I have studied Buddhism for the last 24 years and am a meditation practitioner and instructor, I honor all spiritual traditions.

People tell me that I am an energetic and effective partner committed to developing agile, caring, authentic, positive and insightful individuals, leaders and teams. I believe I am a successful expert because I have needed to learn these skills myself. I have a strong holistic and relationship-centered work ethic that comes through whether I am leading, thought-partnering, mentoring, teaching, facilitating groups, or holding space for healing retreats.

This word cloud was a birthday gift from my colleagues describing what they thought of when they thought of me! So grateful to be seen! This will give you an idea of my character.

My favorite…cute shoes!
