CIRCLE PRACTICE
CHANGED MY LIFE
THE CIRCLE WAY
Discovering circle practice 30 years ago changed my life. I believe it is a model for connection that will change our experience of this world - for the better!!
The Circle Way is a practice developed by Christina Baldwin and Ann Linnea. It is a relationship-centered way of gathering together in a safe space to have conversations that matter. Sitting together in circle invites us to listen differently, to work mindfully with self and let go of ego so that we can be fully present and authentic with each other. In circle we practice speaking from our hearts to the heart of the matter, and allowing space to occur in a world that has cultivated little space for reflection, authentic connection, and meaning-making.
Through the simple practices of circle, I practiced presence, and showing up in my full authenticity without apology. I experienced something much bigger than myself. Circle practice taught me how to give and receive unconditional love and it changed me, my practice, and all my relationships.
As a Circle Carrier of the Circle Way, I believed in it so much that my PhD dissertation research was focused on the experience of circle practice with nurses. That work demonstrated how circle practice changed their lives, too!
grace circles
As I work with active and former healthcare providers, administrators, educators, and students, there is one thing that has become very clear: there is rarely time and space made to reflect on the experiences in our professional practice and make meaning of them from a soul growth perspective. This was true before the pandemic and is true now.
Circle Practice is an opportunity to share authentically with 3 simple practices: Listen with attention; Speak from your heart to the heart of the matter; Tend to the Well-being of the whole group. With these guidelines, together we cultivate a safe space where we can have conversations that matter and where grace is sure to emerge.
I specialize in facilitating Grace Circles, which are circle gatherings for reflective practice. Do you long for a space to share those formative experiences and earned wisdom? Might your workplace be searching for an innovative, meaningful, and effective way to support their employees, strengthen collaboration, and prevent burnout?
